June theme: 🏵️ beautiful maps 🏵️
Made a map you’re proud of this year? Bring it to CUGOS and let us ooh and ahh over it!
If you’ve seen a dazzling map with a local creator recently, please share this meeting invite with them. Self-promotion, personal projects, and non-traditional mapmakers are very welcome!
- Ia Iakobashvili will share two recent projects from her conservation work:
- Agave Restoration Initiative
- Bracken Cave Preserve brochure and story map
-
Karsten Vennemann: Many of you have seen earlier paper and poster versions of my South America bicycle tour map. This is the final update: the map has now been completed and printed as four large panels on 3 mm aluminum composite material for display at home. I’ll bring a smaller print to the meeting and share a few lessons learned from taking the project from concept to final production.
- Nat Henry will share a Dwarf Fortress-inspired transit map on his personal website
